My Passion for Nails and Everything Beauty!

Updated: Oct 21, 2022

My passion for nails and everything Beauty!

I am often asked by clients...Why the Beauty Industry?

Well, my passion for everything beauty started at a very young age.

I can still remember the smell of my Mum’s Revlon Nail Polish! The look of the bottle was so elegant, and that gorgeous shimmer shade rolled around as I moved it upside down. I was about 5-6 years old. I remember taking it from her dresser and running to the bathroom, eager to paint my idy bidy nails. How super excited I was!

There was not much left as I tried again and again to perfect this stuff that went on gluggy and dried funny, not at all how my mum did it! The bathroom was now full of fumes from polish remover and nail polish. It didn’t take long for her to find me and her empty nail polish bottle.

I especially remember all the different brands lined up on my Mum's dressing table. I will never forget the Cutex Polishes and their long white lids, with the ridges along it, remember them? Oh, it is all coming back to me now!

I recall using my teeth to twist the lids off! They were hard to open back in those days. I really do not recommend trying to remove any lids with your teeth. The things we did when we were young.

Polishes have certainly come a long way and not to mention the range of colours we have available now. They are endless.

Growing up, my Mum had given me a manicure book; “Oh, how I wish I’d kept it!”

I loved this book and little did I realise back then that this would become my career.

I unfortunately was not blessed with the beautiful long artistic nails my Mum had, instead I hit the jackpot with my Dad's spatula nails. Short, flat and round like!

At the age of 15, I had my first set of acrylic nails and oh boy did I love them! This just fueled my passion for beauty even more.

When I look back now, I was always super excited with anything Beauty. I was extremely fortunate, at the age of 18, to be given the opportunity to work at the Perth College of Beauty Therapy. Completing many courses and absolutely loving the fact that I was now surrounded by everything Beauty. My dreams had really come true.

As I sit here now in my own salon writing this, I am so truly fortunate to still be surrounded by beauty and my beautiful clients that walk into my salon every day. This is the reason why that passion was and still is so strong! This little salon is my fate and my destiny, a huge part of my life, and I would not change a thing, I love it!

It’s not just my job, it’s my passion.💕
